I forgot to mention that David smoked a turkey for Thanksgiving. He had to get up at 5 AM to get the box ready and get the smoker going. So the night before Thanksgiving, David and Austin stayed the night in Austin's parent's driveway in their boat. They got a picture of the turkey before David covered it in foil. I don't have the picture though. They stuffed it with fruit and then ended up pouring sparkling peach cider in the pan.
The turkey came out black and the breast was dry but the rest of it was moist. David was told by the smoke master to smoke it for a certain length of time and then cook it for a certain length of time; David did as he was told and it seemed to be too long. Don't know if it's the altitude or if he got the smoker too hot while smoking it. David says it's an art and he plans on doing a lot more practicing! He's smoking ribs tomorrow~yum!
He found some guy over by Bear Lake who has an apple orchard and sold David a 55 gallon drum full of wood for like $20.
Yesterday there were about 16 of us for dinner. It was a good time. I'm thankful Austin's parents were kind enough to let us come.
Now for Christmas...
