Shopping

While David and Austin went kayaking today, I went shopping. I was really hoping to find some bedding that I like and I did but then I kept getting paranoid that it would look bad against the red wall in the bedroom. It's a pretty dark red and most of what I found in the bedding was a brighter red. I need a paint sample to take with me!

I did buy a new shower curtain and towels. I hope David likes them but if not I can always take them back! Good thing.

I can't wait to get the gas turned on here so we can stay here for good! The little cabin looks empty and it's kind of sad. But not that sad!

I can't wait to get some pictures posted of the house!

Waiting...

I'm waiting on David and Austin to get here (the cabin) to load up some of my stuff!!!! I can't believe that this is happening. After a million years it seems, I'm going to have a place to call my own again! Thanks to Austin and Vicki for giving us a place to finally call our own!

What am I going to do with a house? I forget what it's like. I'm sure I'll adjust just fine :0)

woohoo!!

The carpet is done and I just got done vacuuming it!! The house looks great! And another bonus is someone has unsecure wifi around here!!!! hahaha

Carpet!!

The upstairs carpet got laid yesterday and today they will finish up the carpet in the basement and then we'll just be waiting for the gas company to come put a meter on the gas lines or whatever.

The house looks really good! I can't wait :0)

It's been rainy here but I guess we need it. I picked up some cute clothes at Old Navy yesterday that can grow with me. I'm excited.

Ok, I forgot what the week is that I was told but I think most women know that usually a first time mom gives birth after her due date. Let's hope I don't!! I want it to be on or close to the second so I can have some time to adjust to baby and hopefully be up to a car ride to Oklahoma!! I need more time in between birth and Oklahoma, not less!! I CAN'T WAIT TO COME TO OKLAHOMA AS A MOM!!! It's going to be so wild :0)

I just wish I knew if it was snips and snails and puppy dog tails or sugar and spice and everything nice!!!!

For Inquiring Minds

Ok, this photo is not flattering. My head looks HUGE but maybe the picture isn't lying and it really is that big? I choose to believe it's some sort of nasty illusion. But I know that there are a few out there who are bummed to be missing out on my preggo belly. So here you go:
This is 17 weeks and 3 days

Still not very big but yesterday I noticed it seemed more noticeable. I guess I "popped". I'll have to see if I can get David to take some better pictures of it but for now this is all I've got. It could still be mistaken for a pooch but I can't suck it in anymore.

Baby Irving

How big is your baby at 17 weeks pregnant? About five inches long and more than three and a half ounces — the size of your open hand. (Open the other one too and imagine your baby cradled in both your arms right after delivery!) Body fat (baby's, that is) is beginning to form and will continue to accumulate through the end of your pregnancy. By the time your baby is born, body fat will make up about two-thirds of his or her weight (and will make all those chubby parts especially yummy).

Your baby is almost certainly listening up by now. In fact, loud noises — the dog barking, the doorbell ringing — will actually startle your baby (and also get him or her used to such noises; for instance, fetuses who regularly hear a dog barking will become babies who sleep right through Fido's outbursts). Your baby's eyes (which have fortunately finished their migration to the front of his or her head) are making small side-to-side movements and can even perceive some light, though the eyelids are still sealed. And since practice makes perfect, your baby is sharpening his or her sucking and swallowing skills in preparation for that first (and second…and third) suckle at your breast or bottle. In fact, most of the survival reflexes that your baby will have at birth are being perfected in utero right now.

And here's some proof that your baby is truly one of a kind (as if you needed any!). Within the next week or so, the pads on your baby's fingertips and toes will become adorned with completely individual swirls and creases (aka fingerprints).

No More Laundromat!!

Last night I got to do laundry in my own washer and dryer!!!! The only thing is, the dryer kinda sucks but it'll do for now! My days of driving to Logan and sitting in the laundromat for 2 hours is over!!! Yay!!

David and Austin sold their trailer and so of course they had to buy new toys. They both got kayaks. David's talked about kayaking since the moment we got to Idaho so now he can finally quit talking about it! I'll have to take a picture of it.

I haven't been sleeping well and it's making my days at work really hard. What I wouldn't give to sleep through the night...I forget what it's like :0)

I would type more but my brain isn't functioning and I keep dozing off as I type...is that normal??

17 Weeks! Can you believe it??

Wow, only 3 more weeks and I'll be half way through this pregnancy!! That's crazy!

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

From crown to rump, your baby measures about 7 3/4 inches. He weighs about 5 ounces, but not for long, as fat is starting to fill out his body and keep him warm. By the time he's born, fat will account for two-thirds of his body weight. He has eyelashes now, although he's months away from being able to bat them.

Hmmm, the inches are different depending on which website you look at.

Monday Again?

It's a lovely day outside...(insert sarcasm here)

It's rainy and cold and I'm tired! boo hoo!

I got my pots and pans woohoo! I started to unpack my kitchen stuff. I had to boil water to wash it. I'm not done. I forgot how much stuff I had! I'm hoping the hot water tank will come in tomorrow. The gas lines should be finished being installed soon and the carpet hopefully installed by Friday. Hopefully!

David's working on the house here; my house in OK is being worked on. Houses can be such a pain!

I thought on Saturday that I felt the baby move twice but I haven't felt it since. From everything I've read, being a first time mom and all, I may not even feel it until 18-20 weeks. I haven't felt it since.

I think I'm going to give up on trying to find out the gender. I guess it'll just be best to leave it alone :( Oh well, in the end I'll still be happy even if I can't know now.

Some good news I almost forgot about: we sold the trailer!! yay!!

Can't believe it's almost June! It's still cold and I'll be 26. WOW!! You're old dad :0)

TGIT

Thank goodness it's Thursday!

I packed up some stuff in our little cabin yesterday and look forward to going and packing up some more tonight. When the house is ready to move into, I want to leave the cabin and not have to come back.

I've also been thinking about the pots and pans I want and I'm thinking that since I'll be in a new house, I'll need new pots and pans. I got rid of pretty much all of my pans before we moved because the non stick coating was flaking off and that stuff's toxic. We don't need that. So I also need new pots and pans for that reason too.

Work is slow. My days are long and boring. Not miserable but slow.

David and I have a friend who has a really awesome garden and he's going to come over and help me get a garden growing. I'm excited b/c it'll be cool to have fresh veggies and stuff. He gave us a lot of food last year which was super nice. He's going to bring over his rototiller and he bought too much stuff for his garden this year so he's going to let me have whatever he has leftovers of. But I'm not going to grow squash. It's crazy and we can't eat that much of it so he told me to let him just give us some of his. He's so kind to us!

I really wanted to grow some corn but then I learned about cross pollenating and well, I'm a beginner so maybe another year.

That's all I know for now.

Crazy

Today has been crazy. Apparently David and I have been the target of some sort of scam. That's lovely.

I went to the doctor today and got my ultrasound scheduled for June 18. My birthday is on the 19th so I told David that it would be a really great birthday present to find out what we're having :0)

I don't think it sold him but I think maybe we made a little progress...

If I go with David's decision ;0) Then we'll just have the ultrasound for the doctor to check and make sure that everything is growing the way it's supposed to. She asked me today if I wanted to do testing for Down's or Spina Bifida but I told her no. There's no need to know now, I'm not going to abort it if something is wrong. I heard the heartbeat and it sounded nice and strong. I've lost 7 lbs in the last 2 months or so but the doc said I should start gaining about a pound a week and start showing soon.

Someone touched my belly on Sunday and I wanted to hit her.

And it looks like I might be trying to come back to OK in Jan for a wedding if we can swing it financially. I hope so :0)

So, let me say it one more time...I can't wait for November!!!

16 Weeks

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Monday Already??

So, pretty much the only thing I can think about right now is moving out of the cabin. The house in town is so close to being done, it's taunting me! I would like to go over and start putting some dishes away but, there's always a but, I have to go to the stupid dadgum laundromat. Curse that place.

I bought the belly band thing which I mentioned before. It's pretty cool. Works good so far so what more can I ask for? It's really stretchy so it's not tight but it still holds my pants up. Whoever invented it was a genius.

I go to the doctor today and I'm glad to be going but yet I'm always afraid they'll tell me something I don't want to hear :0) I go to the OB on Wednesday. Can't wait to go there. It's been 4 weeks since I've heard the heartbeat and I'd like to hear it again so I can know how baby's doing. I'm betting they'll save an ultrasound for my appointment in June because that's when they'll be able to tell the sex. I wish David would come around to finding out the sex! What a bummer.

I'm Beat

Today after church David and I went to the house in town with Vicki and Austin. Vicki and I cleaned while Austin and David finished some other things. There is now running water and I put in all the shelves in the top cabinets so I can start unpacking some things!!! I cannot tell you how happy David and I are!!!!!!

The house looks so good and this afternoon we got a lot of it cleaned up. Not much longer!!

So now I'm beat. Ready for a shower and probably a movie. Back to work tomorrow!

Things I Saw Today

These pictures are going to be out of order but oh well. Here's what I saw today:

On my way home from Logan, I saw this truck. I was really hoping this dead cow was strapped down but it wasn't. They were on their way to the dump. Poor thing.

The snow is melting.

This horse grazes in the front yard.

There's still snow on these moutnains. Wish it would stay!

Here's Foster Reservoir where I pull over to finish conversations :0)

I went and bought a tummy band so I can still wear my pants. Sucks not being big enough for maternity but too big for your clothes.

Ramblings

Yay for Saturday!! It's a beautiful day! Thank goodness!

The house is coming along and I'm super excited to get out of this cabin and so is David. Most everything in the house is done except for putting the shelving in the closets and putting the counter and sink in in the bathroom. Once all that is done, the carpet can be laid!!! Woohoo!!

I think the kitchen is close to being done. They've got the cabinets screwed down and got the plywood that goes under the counter tops down. Now they've just got to get the countertops on and the sink put in. Then get the hot water heater hooked up and it seems to me we should pretty well be good to go. But I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

So to a different subject. The other day I was driving home and I saw this lady pulled over in a parking lot shaking out a car mat while her kid was bending over in the grass throwing up. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I DON'T DO PUKE. At all. Never have and don't know if I ever will. Normally that would have stressed me out just to see it. As I looked over, I thought "Oh my gosh, that is where my life is headed" Puking children. Kids puke all the time. It's gross. But for some reason. Some reason I can only trust as being God. I had no fear. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to handle it. People tell me I will but no one understands the fear. But God is good and He will help.

Still can't wait for November. I had a dream last night that I had a little boy. Any dream I've ever had where I've had a kid, it's been a baby boy. This was my first deram being pregnant though. I even had a name for it in my dream but I can't remember it. It wasn't David though.

Speaking of David; he showed up late to work yesterday because he got out of bed at 5:58 and he's supposed to be at work at 6:00! He didn't get in trouble though. His boss didn't care and besides, David is never late.

Well, I guess I'll go do my hair so I can go into Logan.

It's Going To Be A Long Day

I didn't get to bed until midnight last night. Then I got up about a million times to pee. Then I woke up because I had a stomach ache. Then I would just keep waking up. 5:15 came way too early today. As if I don't have a hard enough time staying awake...

I really like these lotions from a seller on etsy on the internet. I ordered one and it's called "banana coconut buttercream cupcake" and I want to eat it. Ok, not really but it smells good enough to eat. I also got a honeysuckle one and it smells delish too.

Today is my Friday and tomorrow I can sleep in! Yay! Austin and David are making progress on the house in town. CAN'T WAIT! I won't be a hobo anymore :0)

Other than that there's really no news to tell. Our days consist of work and work. It's great.

15 Weeks!!

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

Fine, downy hair (called lanugo, which he'll shed before birth, grows on his body. Hair is sprouting on top of his head, too, although whatever color it is may change. His eyebrows have begun to fill in. Your baby hiccups, but he can't yet make a sound because his trachea is still filled with fluid, not air. The intestinal tract continues to develop.

Mondays...

This morning I get into my car to go to work and realize that my keys are no where to be found. Then I remembered that David was the last person to drive my car and knew that he put the keys in his pocket and then took them to work with him today. I had to call my work and they sent someone to come get me. That was nice.

We had a good weekend. We went and saw Iron Man 2 and David got some parts for his truck that he pulled off another truck in the junkyard. Thankfully the other truck had good bumpers on it so David put those on his truck and they look a million times better. Yesterday was a really nice day so we went fishing. It was nice. But the fish were taunting David and would jump all around us but any time he'd throw his lures to where the fish were jumping they'd disappear. He is not the fish whisperer.

I was supposed to go to the doc today but had to cancel my appointment since I didn't have a car. So I go next week. I was looking forward to going! Oh well. Looks like we might be having some rain today and the next few days. I guess rain is coming to OK too. Hope no one experiences a tornado today!

Well, that's all.

I Don't Get It

Every time I see it, I am shocked. I'm guessing it has to do with lack of funds. That seems to be the usual problem. I don't understand how it can be legal for postal carriers around here to be able to drive left sided driving vehicles while sitting in the middle or as far to the right as possible.

I'm guessing the post office doesn't have the money to purchase right sided postal trucks. I'm just thinking that it can't be safe. I guess they develop quick reflexes with their left foot. I hope so.

Weird.

Funny

I'm feeling pretty good today. The guys are grilling hamburgers at work today! It's my Friday! It's a good day.

I saw this funny video yesterday.

It's Back

Last week was a tease. I was feeling good, well, better. Hardly any nausea. No sickness before work. It was awesome. I thought I had reached it. Reached the end of this dreaded pregnancy sickeness. Apparently not.

Poor David has never heard me worshipping the trash can as much as I have these last few weeks. Last week, the trash can and I didn't have any meetings. It was blissful. I'm also a self conscious puker/heaver. I have been brushing my teeth in the cabin with a gallon of water so the residents in the other building don't hear my worship time. It's a morning and night ritual. So, one might conclude that this week isn't going so well. Better than previously but worse than last week.

I go to the doctor on Monday. I will be a day short of 15 weeks. Geez. It'll be November before we know it!! I can't wait!!

David and Austin went over last night and began to finish the tile at the house in town!! I think this weekend hopefully they'll get the forms for the porch steps put up and the form for a deck in the back...I think. Not sure about that.

That's all I know. Nothing exciting regarding work for either of us. I'm out.

14 Weeks--Second Trimester!!!

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
