Finally Home

Well, it's good to be home I guess. More like, it's good to be with David :0)

My living room floor is covered in baby stuff. I have no where to put it. I don't think the whole nesting thing has hit me. Avery still has no crib, dresser or changing table. Hopefully that'll be changing here soon. So I've got to get every thing washed and at least put in her room so we can walk through the living room again.

My oven came in today for our house in Edmond. Hopefully this will be the last expense on that house for a while but I won't hold my breath. The delivery people stressed me out today. Not cool but the oven finally made it with no dents or anything.

Yesterday was a pretty eventful day for David. He has become the safety patrol for work since his friend got hurt. However, he wasn't assigned this position. He knew he was getting on people's nerves for pretty much pointing out how they do alot of things wrong and showing them the crappy equipment they use. Well, yesterday David noticed that someone was using a chain to lift these huge things that weigh probably 23,000 lbs with a homemade chain! This chain was supposed to be in the boss' office out of comission. Apparently though, the boss let this guy use it under the conditions that he stay out from underneath the equipment while using it so if it falls it won't land on him. David sees the kid stand under it, walk under it, etc and tells the kid to get the heck out from underneath it. Well, to make a long story short, David took the chain and another nylon strap and cut them in half.

Needless to say the boss and the higher up boss weren't too happy about it. David told them he felt he had done the right thing and was prepared to face the consequences. They kept telling him they were just going to use it one more time. Well, that's all it takes. That chain might have worked the last 20 times but who's to say it'll work 21 times? Then the boss turned his anger from David to the kid who had been messing around under the thing he was lifting. That kid lied.

And to condense the story even more because it's too long to type out: David gets spoken to twice and then finally called into the office. Everyone is nervous for him. Some even offered to walk if David got fired. What is the outcome? David is now going to be a leader on a safety committee. LOL he totally thought he was going to get fired and now he's going to have a leadership role on this probably 4 man committee. He doesn't know the details of what it will entail but it seems that he might be having to go to classes or setting some up for work or something but the upper boss told him he would have the authority to enforce safety rules. Not what David expected at all. I guess I'll see when he gets home what else he learned about the position.

Well, that's pretty much been our last 2 days.
