Professional Pictures

I finally got Avery's pictures done today and I think they're going to be FABULOUS!!!! Avery was so happy and smiley. The photographer said Avery was the happiest baby she's done. It's going to be hard to wait a week or 2 until I get them!!! I'm not even kidding. I want them now :)

Avery's been alot more whiney than usual. I don't think it's teeth but it could be. She's also at the age for separation anxiety which she doesn't seem to have except when we're at home. I hear that's normal for it to be at home too. And she wants constant attention lately. If we're out of the house, she's great. Maybe she's getting bored.

She was whiney all morning but was perfect for pictures. She only cried while changing outfits, which is not a surprise. Can't wait to show them!!

Check Up

Avery had her well child check up today and she's perfect! She weighs 20.47 lbs and is 29.5 inches long. That puts her weight in the 90th percentile (a little below it actually) and her length is above the 95th percentile. The doc said she is tall. She is staying consistent in her growth and that's what we want.

She was on the table and the doctor left his measuring tape on the table and she went to grab and then looked at him like she was looking for approval and Dr. Curtis said that was an advanced thing to do :0)

Other than that the visit was pretty uneventful. He told me stuff I already knew and then we were on our way. We have some differing opinions on things but I respect him and I believe he respects me and that's why I drive a little further to go to him. We are really blessed to have such a healthy girl.

8 MoNtHs oLd

I can't believe on this day 8 months ago, our baby girl made her way into this world :0) She is such a joy!!! And this striped outfit is one her grandma gave her.

Avery is doing all the age appropriate things. She's really mobile and if you're on the floor with her you become her jungle gym. She is also getting to where she wants to be held more or at least wants your full attention at all times. Not always is she like that but definitely more than she was. She follows me around the house and fusses while I do dishes or cook or whatever else. Not the whole time but I she's at the right age for this kind of stuff.

She claps her hands now and does other mouth noises using her hands that I don't know how to describe :)

She loves to be outside. She has gotten into a habit of trying to crawl up your torso and over the back of the chair when you hold her. We're trying to break that one. She's busy busy busy.

She's awesome. That's what she is!

Long Day

My girl is sleeping. She had a long day and was so tired. We went to church and then spent the day at Austin and Vicki's. While they were at church we went for a drive and took some pictures of Avery. Then we went back to Austin and Vicki's and at some ribs and sausage that David smoked.

This last picture is the highway that I live off of. The rest of the pictures are on facebook. The weather has been so beautiful!

Blue Eyes

I just love Friday's :0)

I've got the windows open and the fan on and it feels great! I'm watching The Housewives of New York and listening to this mom talk about how they can't function as a family without their housekeeper (who was on vacation in the Phillipines). The woman only has 2 kids. I think that's funny...sad? I don't know. I'm listening to Avery play in her bed when she should be sleeping.

I've been running around trying to find a place locally that can make some hoses for David's tool. Goodson ordered some tools in April and then placed another order in May (that never got to us until yesterday). And we don't have enough full kits to send so of course the places I went today didn't work out for one reason or another but David's going to check out one more place today. He's going to Salt Lake tonight for some midnight drag racing that his friend is taking him to as an early birthday present. Avery and I could go along but I think we'll stay home because I don't want her to be awake all night, which she would be. So us girls will be on our own tonight.

Yay! I got my 3rd Keurig just now! I really like the Keurig but I don't know that I'd recommend it to anyone. I've had so many problems with mine and I read online that other people do as well. I might try one of the other coffee pot brands that you can use Keurig cups with though. I'm glad I didn't spend my money on this Keurig (shhh.)

Ears, Food and Summer

Summer has finally arrived and I'm loving it. Our house was sooo hot last night because we hadn't put in the window units. David came home late from work and found Avery and I melting away so he put the window unit in and it's been heavenly!! It's going to be a whopping 92 today :)

David's been worried about his hearing and one of his ears has been bothering him so I got him an appointment with an Ear, Nose, Throat doctor and we got some good (or bad...)news. They said his hearing is above normal...bad news is: he's a bad listener :(

The doctor said he's probably noticed hearing loss because he had such good hearing before but even with any that he might have lost, he still has better than average hearing. He also had a small hair that had landed on his ear drum (doc said probably from last hair cut) and so every time it moved, David could hear it. It had also irritated it some too. So it was good to get good news. Good news for him...not for me :) hahaha Now I know he can't use the excuse that he can't hear me.

Also, he got custom fitted for ear plugs. He said when they put the foam in his ears he could barely hear himself talk. He said it was awesome and the doctor said the actual plugs would block out even more sound that just the foam for the mold. The doctor said they actually make ear buds for ipods and stuff so that everything else is completely blocked out. Also, they make plugs for shooting guns that will heighten your hearing so that you can hear even a whisper but when the gun fires, it dampers the sound but I don't know by how much but I'm guessing it's a lot. So, I'm glad that David's going to get some good ear plugs.

I bought my canning stuff and I'm super excited to use it. I haven't made it down to get any food yet though. I forgot to buy jelly jars though so I'll have to get some. I'm really excited about making salsa, spaghetti sauce, jams, jellies and whatever else I can boil. No veggies or meat since I don't have a pressure canner. I think it'll be neat to eat stuff that has no preservatives or other additives. Plus, I just think it'll be a lot of fun. I can't wait! I'm also going to try freezer jam. I can't wait to have shelves of food that I canned myself :)

Crazy Hair

When Avery wakes up she always has crazy hair now.

I'm still waiting for her to crawl. She is now using her left leg to push off rather than just dragging it behind her. She's been rocking on her hands and knees for a couple of days but still no crawling. We were laughing the other night because she went into her room and played in there and then we see her come out and go into our room. Like she was done with one room and on to the next.

She's so much fun :0)

The Big 2-7!

I guess when you blog about your upcoming birthday no one can forget it, right? Hahaha I am so excited because this afternoon we're going to go buy me canning stuff for my birthday!!! I've been wanting to can food so now is my perfect excuse to go buy all the stuff I need :0)

When I was working at the county I bought a Ball's guide to preserving or something like that. I've been anxious to start using some of the recipes. There's ALL kinds of cool stuff in it.

I bought Avery another hat today and gave it to her in the car on the way home. I forgot to take the tag off and she ate part of it. I saw part of it in her mouth and tried to fish it out, even with a tooth brush (which I've had to do before), but it kept going further and further back and then it was gone :( I guess I'll be seeing that later?? Or maybe her stomach juices will break it down.

David's going to be back to working eights. We'll miss the money but I can't say I'm upset about it. He's been working a whole lot, from 6 to 9 some nights. They let him have yesterday (Friday) off but he spent it at work machining parts for his bike. I guess his boss was surprised he wanted to spend the day there when he didn't have to but David told him it would be therapeutic to work on his bike stuff. He was happy because he got a lot done that would have taken him weeks of doing it here and there. This is the first Saturday he's had off in forever.

Well, this is all I know. I'll try to be posting more pictures and stuff when I get my adaptor for my laptop. I don't like loading pictures to this mac.

Not so News Worthy.

Well I ordered a new adaptor thingy to plug in my computer. I need to get a battery but I'll wait. I can't wait to upload the video of Avery swinging at the park yesterday.

Yesterday I bought her some little jelly sandals and they're so cute. They were on the floor last night and they were so adorably small. I bought her a hat too and it's a little big but perfect to grow into. I'm wishing now I had also got a white one; I might go back and get one. She doesn't even mess with the hat but yesterday I put a headband on her and she kept pulling it off. I don't know why she leaves the hat alone but not the bow. Oh well.

I was officially awarded financial aid for school so I guess now it's safe to enroll (eeekkk!!!). I think for now I'm going to try to take maybe two evening classes so David can stay with Avery in the evening. I cannot stomach the idea of taking morning classes and putting her in daycare. David wants me to eventually when he's in school but it just makes me sick. He tries to make me feel better about it by telling me how it's only a few hours and only a few days a week but I'm going to prolong it as long as possible. If she were older I still wouldn't want her to go to daycare but I'd feel better about it.

Sometimes being a grown up isn't fun hehe.

Along with winning a wal-mart gift card recently, I also won a $25 gift card toward getting Avery's pictures taken by a local photographer. She's already cheap and so the gift card would help but I've already had my eyes on another photographer. I'm hoping to get them taken soon.

I bought the cutest picture frame at a really fun place called The Quilted Bear. It has a picture already in it of 2 twin boys that look to be maybe a little younger than Avery. It's a really cute black and white picture. I have the picture of those boys still hanging in the frame! I'm going to put a picture of Avery in it but I've got to get those pictures taken first...remember? Anywho, I told David that those are our future twin boys. So I'm putting it out there. I'm projecting it, I'm praying for it, I want it! What a dork I am! Hopefully it will work like when I was in labor and kept telling myself that I was going to give birth in the daytime and I did :0) I kid in all of this but I really do want twins!

We're having the car port torn down on our house in OK. That's going to make the house look so different! I've never seen the house without it. We'll be seeing pictures of it; can't wait to see them!

That's all that is going on around here. Oh yeah, Avery's been getting on her knees more and she is really putting to use her ability to fake cry. Oh, she's good already. And she fake coughs too. Where does she learn this??? I love it though.

Park Trip

Today was Avery's first time at the park. She really enjoyed swinging and eating pine cones.

I took a short video of her and some pictures but I don't know when I'll be able to post them. I can't turn on my laptop and I have no idea where the cords are for my camera to plug into our Mac. I've got to get a new cord for my laptop because even when it's plugged in it won't charge now. The cord is worn through. No telling when I'll get this done :)

I {heart} Avery!

Avery loves to play with her car seat. I can't remember if it was yesterday morning or this morning that I caught her falling asleep in this position.

This is her new face. She doesn't snort anymore but makes the snort face all the time. At bunco the other night she wouldn't smile at anyone she just scrunched up her nose. Silly girl.

The princess in her new jammies. I wanted something that would be a little cooler than her other jammies.

I love how Avery is so content to play on the floor. She just plays and plays. My heart melts every time I look at her. I can't believe she's mine!

I love how mobile she is. I don't want her to get bigger but I do. I can't wait to buy her things like hula hoops and dolls and whatever else. When I see other little girls playing, it makes me excited for those days with Avery. I love the now but am so looking forward to the future.
