1 Week!!!

David's work buddy seems to be doing well despite the circumstances. He was having a hard day on Monday but David and some other guys from work went down and visited him and his wife told David that it helped his spirits a whole lot. He went in for surgery on Tuesday and the doctors said they'd know within 5 days if he'd be able to walk again. We're praying for a miracle! David said he saw the x-rays and said his back was just sheared. OSHA came out to their work. We are NOT impressed at all with the way his work has handled this. It's really a sad deal.

There's a house in our neighborhood who has decided that it is better to grow corn in your front yard, rather than grass.

I don't know why I find it so amusing. But I do.

Went to the midwife yesterday and everything looks great. I'm measuring dead on. Heart beat was strong. Avery likes to lay on my right side. Other than that, nothing else to mention really.

I leave in a week for OK!! I'm kind of sad to be gone for 6 days, isn't that funny? Wish David could come with me :( But it will be nice to not be rushed to see everyone. I'm not a big fan of flying so I'm not thrilled at flying by myself. Oh well! I'm ready to come home for a visit!!!!

Hello 3rd Trimester!! 28 Weeks

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

I'm feeling really good! We'll see how that changes here in the next few months haha!! I was reading on my birth board women who are the around the same week as me and they were experiencing all kinds of fun things. Heartburn, swelling, pain, tiredness, breathing difficulties, hips hurting, back hurting, can't get comfy, I know there was more. Praise God I'm being spared...for now :0) I'll get back to you in another month or two!

Little Avery is moving around like crazy. She still won't move for her daddy~stubborn girl. I go to the midwife today!!! Woot Woot!

And I leave for OK next week! yay! I really hope it's a fun and relaxing time!

Camping

This weekend David and I will be going camping at Red Fish Lake in Stanley, ID. Hopefully David and Austin don't get eaten by a bear!

Time for David to get a new job. One of the guys at his work got pinned on the ground between two pieces of metal. David said they probably weighed 1,000 lbs. David said that the guy couldn't move his legs. They took him to the hospital in Logan and did some scans and said his back was fractured. They medi flighted him to Ogden, so that can't be good. When he had left, as far as I know, he still couldn't move his legs. He had even gotten a catheter and didn't feel it. I don't know much else. I feel so bad for him and his family. I hope he can make a recovery.

Nothing much else going on.

I love my husband. I love these 2 pictures of us. I love his smile and happy face. I would say that 2003 and this last year have been the craziest of my life. Lots of ups, mostly downs but still going strong. I love this man. He is mine. Forever.

And I just know that we're going to make the cutest babies :0)

I seriously need to scan in a better picture of our little girl. I can't wait to get a picture of her in our arms!
What's the sign say that people post in their house? All because two people fell in love.

I am so excited to meet our little girl. I know every soon to be mother feels that way. I can't wait to see the beauty that we (ok, I'll give credit to God too!!) made! A little less than 3 months until our new addition is here. I still can't believe it.

So Much To Think About

Ugh this whole trying to find a car seat thing is really stressing me out! I can't find one that I love. I'm going to have to make a decision soon.

Little Avery is growing. Her kicks are now up around my ribs. Mainly my right rib. I think she kicks my gall bladder alot because it's been hurting more. She's become quite active, except when David's around :) She doesn't cooperate when I try to show him her movements.

I've come to the conclusion that I wish I was raising Avery back in the 50's, heck maybe even earlier. I've been reading this book that talks about discipline and the lack thereof these days. And how basically society is bombarding families and destroying them rather than supporting them like they used to. It's going to be so hard to raise a child with so many horrible influences in this world.

I've mentioned before that raising a respectful, well-behaved child is a priority of mine. I've spent so many years in daycare and seen too many things! It's very important to me and David both. I read this quote in the book and I agree with it whole heartedly:

"My husband and I have been amazed again and again by the fearfulness of parents to take a stand--even with their small children. They don't seem to grasp the idea that God has put them in charge for a very good reason, and it is He who will hold them accountable. If parents were to instill the concept of proper, God-honoring authority in their children from the start, it would be far easier to enforce when the preteen years arrive."

The bible says we are supposed to train up our children in the way they should go. If David and I don't train our children...someone else will. I don't want that.

I know that it's all easier said than done but I believe it can be done. I've seen it done. I know that in the end, it's my children who decide who they will be as adults but I hope that I point them in the direction that will lead to happiness and success.

I've been reading up alot on the art of homemaking and trying to think not only of my children but the future that I may be molding for multiple generations. Homemaking doesn't exactly come natural to me but with practice, it will some day. I've been learning about the many aspects of homemaking and I hope to master these so that I can teach my daughter(s). I want them to be Proverbs 31 women. Women who are not idle, whose children and husband praise her. She does her husband good all the days of her life. Ok, being a Proverbs 31 woman is always a work in progress, at least for me anyways!

Most of all, I hope I raise this little girl to love the Lord. The rest should fall into place :)

27 Weeks

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

This is the last week of my 2nd trimester! Holy cow, the end is near!!

The Sand Dunes

We got back yesterday from playing at the sand dunes. I think we all had a good time. On Saturday the guys went out right in the middle of the day and got too hot and experienced some motion sickness while out and weren't looking so good when they made it back. Sunday they decided to only ride in the morning and went and picked up some drammamine which worked awesome. They went on some really big dunes yesterday but none of us girls got to see them.

David took me out for a ride but of course we ended up going out too far and there were some times that I was sure we weren't going to make it down a dune but we did and then I asked to go back :0)

Tonight David is playing in a slow pitch softball tournament tonight. Hope he has fun!
