Call me Martha Stewart. Ok, I'm not even close but I'm obsessed with all things related to homemaking. Obsessed. I've mentioned this I don't know how many times but I'll just mention it again: living in the cabin gave me a lot of time to read and think. I learned a lot of things I wish I had learned before I was married and am excited to pass these things along to my daughter. In fact, I'm super excited I had a daughter before a son because I'm excited to put the things I've learned into use haha.

Recently I've been working on a homemaking binder for myself, which I'm super excited about but I can't find my 3 whole punch so I can't get the papers in the binder. Bummer. I could but it wouldn't look very neat.

I love love love menu planning. It makes our meal times so much easier for me. I love to already know what we'll be eating for the next 2 weeks. It makes my grocery shopping easier too. Love it. I don't have to stand in my kitchen wondering what the heck I'm going to make for dinner. I can't stand that. Let me clarify: I HATE IT. I don't have a love of cooking but I have a love of cooking for my family. I love that my husband comes home to a home cooked meal. I'm glad to provide that for him and at one time I wasn't. Not that I didn't want that for him before but I never thought about it really. Prime example of what that time in the cabin has done for me. And there are lots more.

I love learning cleaning tips, organizing tips, cooking tips, decorating tips, family fun ideas...anything. Homemaking has become my passion. I'm not good at it by any means yet but I'm learning and that's what matters. I'm trying to keep my home clean and clutter free. Trying is the key word here...

This all stems from the Proverbs 31 woman and learning about her. She does her husband good all the days of his life and her children praise her. Her life is her home but she works too. There's a lot to learn from her. I believe *gasp* that a woman's place is in the home but if circumstances are so that she needs to work, then her home should be her priority before her work. I have no beef with women working outside the home at all but I believe her heart should be her home and family above all else.

Also, Titus 2 talks about the older women teaching the younger women. I love that. I am now in that position with Avery and I hope to do well. Maybe someday I can help younger women prepare too.

Well, that's my soap box for today! I'm just really thankful that I'm able to stay home with my girl. I don't know that I've ever been so content. I'm trying to soak it all up because when David goes back to school, I'll probably have to work. So I'm relishing in these days of not working :0)

Anywho, got a new video up of Avery. She was supposed to be napping and I could hear her all the way in the living room without the monitor. After I turned the camera off, she heard the beep and she popped her head up but she went to sleep shortly afterwards.
