We're Moving!

David and I are finally moving into our own place...a one room cabin :0) We'll be moving in this weekend. woohoo!

I went over today and scoped the place out to see about putting my furniture in there. I'm so excited! We won't have internet, TV or phone. Anyone who knows me well knows that I love The Pioneer Woman and well, I think now I'm going to be the Pioneer Woman!

In the main building on the land we're going to live on there is a small library and so I'm excited about that because I love to read. I also plan on learning to sew and knit or something. I really want to use the lack of TV and computer as a positive experience. I want to learn things that I can pass down to my family someday. Now is going to be the perfect time to learn. I can also come to the church and use their wi-fi.

This weekend I'll take some pictures of the cabin. Oh, you will laugh. But as Dave Ramsey says "live like no one else so you can live like no one else." It's going to feel soooooo good to get out of debt! I am so excited, good things are in store for us.

I'm trying to find a new background for my blog but I can't find any that I like. Bummer.

4 Wheelin'

Some pictures from this afternoon

Trace was ready for a ride!

It was stinking cold

Austin and the family riding in front of us

Look at Trace sandwiched in all nice and warm! He loves to ride!

David and me trying not to freeze

Trace fell asleep on the ride. Who could do that?

Good Laugh

Today after church there was a fellowship dinner and so we stayed. We were eating dinner and talking to another couple and had a good time.

As we were leaving the lady asked how old we are. David said 27 and 26 just as I said 25 and 26. I looked at David and said "you're not 27! You're 26!" He's like "no, I'm 27" so this goes on and on. I'm like "David, I'm 25 and you're only a year older than me so you're 26" and he still didn't believe me. He said "no Hannah, you're 26." I was laughing so hard.

He was so convinced that he was 27. Finally the lady took out a piece of paper and showed David the math that proved he was 26. He's like "I've been telling everybody I'm 27" Oh my goodness. He said at work everyone has been asking how old he is and he's been telling them he turned 27 this summer. Hahahahaha.

Anyways, we're going on a 4 wheeler ride this afternoon so hopefully I'll have some pictures to share!! It's been a while.

Thanksgiving Elaboration

I forgot to mention that David smoked a turkey for Thanksgiving. He had to get up at 5 AM to get the box ready and get the smoker going. So the night before Thanksgiving, David and Austin stayed the night in Austin's parent's driveway in their boat. They got a picture of the turkey before David covered it in foil. I don't have the picture though. They stuffed it with fruit and then ended up pouring sparkling peach cider in the pan.

The turkey came out black and the breast was dry but the rest of it was moist. David was told by the smoke master to smoke it for a certain length of time and then cook it for a certain length of time; David did as he was told and it seemed to be too long. Don't know if it's the altitude or if he got the smoker too hot while smoking it. David says it's an art and he plans on doing a lot more practicing! He's smoking ribs tomorrow~yum!

He found some guy over by Bear Lake who has an apple orchard and sold David a 55 gallon drum full of wood for like $20.

Yesterday there were about 16 of us for dinner. It was a good time. I'm thankful Austin's parents were kind enough to let us come.

Now for Christmas...

Thanksgiving Pictures

I didn't have to go to work today so here are some pictures from Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving

David and I spent this Thanksgiving with our friends and their family. It was a good time. It involved lots of food and TV.

I should do my Thankful Thursday post but well...I don't want to! How horrible of me to not do it on today, Thanksgiving day. Oh well.

Tomorrow I will post some pictures in the afternoon. I have to work tomorrow which is a bummer. I'm really hoping the boss will call and say nevermind. We'll see.

My New Project!

Today I brought a list of sandwiches to my boss so she could have some ideas to help out her lunch menu. She was really receptive to it. I picked sandwiches that had ingredients that I knew she already had. That way she wouldn't immediately put up a wall and tell me she couldn't afford to buy this or that.

We talked about trying out the sandwiches and building a new menu. Once that's done, we need to get the word out that there's a new and improved menu.

I feel like this has become a project for me. It makes me so excited to help her out. If she makes more money, so would I and that would be great for the both of us! I hope I can find a way to bring in more traffic for her. I think a new menu will help out a lot!! I hope this brings about good things for her.

Well, I washed David's first paycheck in the washer and completely destroyed it :( Oops. He wasn't too happy about that!

Still can't believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Before you know it, it will be Christmas. Sheesh!
