Some Other Thoughts

9 months ago today must have been a busy day (wink wink, hint hint, if you catch my drift)! Today is the birthday of many people that I know. THE most important being the birthday of my mom. She would have been 49 today...so young...

It is also David's brother's birthday. Which he is celebrating in the great state of Texas working on wind turbines.

Also, I am getting super pumped about winter!!! I know, everyone acts like I'm crazy but I don't care! I can't wait for snow!!!

The guy that David works with said that some of the old farmers said they're expecting a super bad winter. They said they can tell by the way the crows are grouping together and the way the corn went to top early. Austin said you can also tell by how high off the ground the wasps build their nests. I think that's so cool how nature can make signs like that.

2 posts today...I need a life!

Pictures From Last Night

For your viewing pleasure:

This is before David's trail 90 started running bad.

I had no where to put my feet here. This resulted in a serious cramp in my hip!

A view from the trail.

All four of us riding on the 4 wheeler!

Good times. Good times.

Sunday Night Outing

Tonight we went out for a ride. Austin, Vicki and Carson rode on their 4 wheeler while David and I each had our own trail 90 to ride. Well, David's trail 90 made it to maybe 50 feet and that was it. So he turned around and put it back in the truck and then he and I rode on one trail 90. I was actually riding on the rack.

After we rode up the trail a ways, the trail got pretty bumpy and I was bouncing all over the rack. I had no pegs to put my feet up on so I had my legs wrapped around David. I didn't like that at all because if something were to happen I wouldn't have been able to get my feet down. At one point in the trail the ruts were pretty deep and I thought I was going to fall off so I made David stop. Then I got on the 4 wheeler with Austin, Vick and Carson. So the rest of the time we rode like that.

While we were going through this one marshy area we see a bull moose. He just stood and stared at us while we fumbled around to get the camera out to get a picture. It was really cool. We got out of there fast though, we didn't want to get him mad and make him charge us. The only other animal we saw after that was one deer. I held a spot light trying to see some animals but we didn't see anything else :(

It got dark while we were out and I was ready to get out of there. Austin said that the area we were in was where people go to hunt mountain lions. Nice huh? I wasn't too worried about us on the 4 wheeler. I was worried about David being on that little trail 90. Austin had forgot his gun in the truck so we would have been in some trouble had something wanted us for dinner :0)

We all made it out in one piece. At one point we had to tow David up a hill that the little trail 90 just couldn't get up. I forgot to take my camera so I will post some pictures when Vicki sends some to me.

Church

David and I went to church this morning and it was wonderful. I had forgotten how much I love and miss it.

One good thing about being out of the bible belt is that there's not a church on every corner to try. I never liked the searching for a church home. Praying and figuring out which church God wants you at. I think here in Preston there is a Presbyterian, Catholic and Grace Fellowship. We have visited Grace Fellowship. They have Baptist doctrine but I'm not sure if they consider themselves Baptist or non-denominational or what. The rest are all LDS.

If you open the phone book you would see that there are about 20 pages of LDS churches and maybe one church under the other denominations. Quite the opposite from Oklahoma!

I like that there is only one place for us to worship and am so happy that they believe what we believe and we don't have to drive to Logan to go to the Baptist church there. But we might check it out cuz ya never know!

Music

It has been an uneventful day. David is makin' pizza's tonight. MMM

I thought I'd be a nice wife and download some music for him to put on his ipod. You know--some Ozzy, some Jimi Hendrix and Texas Hippie Coalition and whatever else I can remember that he likes.

I have come to the realization that I am musically ignorant. There is so much music out there that I miss out on. I've been trying to broaden my musical horizon.

Anyways, I'm just waiting on my honey to come home. I have nothing else to say. I'm out.

Day 10--Love is Unconditional

"If someone were to ask you "Why do you love your wife/husband?"----what would you say?

Most of us could rattle off a list of the reasons they love their spouse. But what if over the course of years, your wife or husband stopped being every one of those things? Would you still love them? If your reasons for loving your spouse all have something to do with his or her qualities--and then those same qualities suddenly or gradually disappear--your basis for love is over.

The only way love can last a lifetime is if it's unconditional. The truth is this: love is not determined by the one being loved but rather by the one choosing to love.

The Bible refers to this kind of love by using the Greek word agape (uh-gop-ay). Agape love is "in sickness and health" love, "for richer or poorer" love, "for better or worse" love. It is the only kind of love that is true love.

This is God's kind of love. He does not love us because we are lovable but because He is so loving.

Marriage must be built on a stronger foundation that mere friendship or sexual attraction. Unconditional love, agape love, will not be swayed by time or circumstance.

You will struggle and fail to attain this kind of marriage unless you allow God to begin growing His love within you."--The Love Dare

Today's Dare: Do something out of the ordinary today for your spouse--something that proves (to you and them) that your love is based on your choice and nothing else. Wash her car. Clean the kitchen. Buy his favorite dessert. Fold the laundry. Demonstrate love to them for the sheer joy of being their partner in marriage.

Hi Ho Hi Ho, It's Off to Work I go...

It has been so nice having somewhere to go and something to do each day! It's only for 4 hours but it's sooooooo good to get out of the house!

All I have done for the last 2 days is stuff envelopes, seal them, stamp them and put address labels on them. And acquire many paper cuts I might add.

And today while putting on address labels, I found out that there is a MICHAEL MILLS in little ol' Preston, ID!! And that is my dad's name! I was amused by it.

David is trying to get a job with the state. He found out today that over 100 people have applied for the same position :(

Say a prayer that he can find some work soon. Thanks.
