Zoo!

Here are some pictures going through Sardine Canyon on the way to the zoo. These pictures don't do it justice. Didn't help that I was driving and taking these through the windshield...shhh.

Avery did so good a the zoo. She was happy the whole time. She didn't care so much about the animals, which I knew she wouldn't. She was just happy to be outside in her stroller. There were about a million people at the zoo. It's a nice zoo. It's better than OKC's I'd say. I don't know if all of the exhibits are necessarily better but there's shops and a lot of places to sit and eat and there's even a big carousel. It's also very hilly. My calves are sore from walking up and down the hills.

I can't wait to take her back when she's older and is excited about seeing animals.

Today Avery has been getting a lesson in obedience :) She always opens the drawers on the armoire in our living room. I'm always afraid she's going to smash her fingers. She pulls the drawer out and then chews on the knob. Today I thought it would be a good time to get her to learn the word "no" and learn to start listening to mama. She's still young but I've got to start early in obedience training.

She went for the drawer and I told her no and barely swatted her hand and she put her hand down and looked at me and smiled. Repeat the scenario a few times. I had to look away because her smile made me laugh. She did stop though and over the next while she would roll up to the drawer and put her hand on it. As soon as I saw her do it I would tell her "no" and she would take her hand down and get distracted by something else. This happened a few times. I've worked with kids long enough to not be naive enough to think that I just taught my child to listen to me but I've worked with kids long enough to know that if I keep up with it she will listen. I absolutely CANNOT stand inconsistencies when it comes to discipline and I pray and pray that God gives me the strength to ALWAYS mean what I say and ALWAYS follow through.

It is truly my hearts desire to raise a child who is respectful. I'm really excited because I have found some resources to help parents cultivate Godly characteristics in our children and I want them. I want them bad haha. I'll have to save my pennies :)

I love my little girl. I could seriously squeeze her to death. I won't actually squeeze her to the point of death :) BUT I love her so much, that's how tight I want to squeeze her. It's all out of love. Pure love.

Good Point, I Think.

breastfeeding in public is offensive - see for yourself!

I can't take the credit for this (nor can I track down the original author) but it's great and so worth a share :)

I’m thankful for not having boobs thrown in my face all the time by offensive and indecent breastfeeding mothers like the ones below:

Wait…Well, this is a bad example. Let’s try again.

Hmm…Just a minute. I’m sure I can find better ones than these…

Eh, still not offensive enough. I’ll check one more time.

That is better. LOOK AT THAT! I see about a half inch of boob. DISGUSTING.
UGH. Look at that indecency! She must be from some third world country to be exposed like that!

Now that’s just…There are no words to descripe how inappropriate that is. Something needs to be done!

But why stop at breasfeeding women? There are boobs everywhere. Beware! If you thought the above photos were offensive, you WILL DEFINITELY be offended by the photos below.

Not this one, though. This one was in plain view on news stands and in mail boxes in 19 countries world wide!

Not this one, either. This one actually won an award!

Oh, and I guess this one is fine too. Everyone knows you can’t sell jeans without someone being topless.

Or beer, for that matter.

Or sunglasses.

Or movie tickets.

Or CDs…

You know what? Maybe I’m crazy, but I think that someone mixed up some photos here. The first batch are offensive, but the second batch are just fine and dandy???

People who live in glass bras:

Shouldn’t throw stones:

If you think women have the right to breastfeed their children no matter where they are, please repost this…comment vote it popular whatever . Support breastfed babies and their right to eat in public!

How Sad...

I'm sad because I miss that neck and chin!!!! I was tagged in this picture on facebook. I've never seen it and had forgotten about this night. There's still hope. That neck is still on me...somewhere.

So Cute!

I know I'm kind of partial but I think this is the prettiest little girl in the world. Too bad she's not 3 and we don't live in Franklin county or Vicki could teach her a little dance number :) She's so freakin' cute!!!

I've been watching the tv show 16 and Pregnant. I was watching an episode yesterday and this little girl was in labor and she was just crying and crying. I don't know how far along she was before she got her epidural but it must've been a while. It made me REALLY thankful that I labored at home and could move around and sit in my tub. Warm water helps soooo much. I couldn't imagine being in that kind of pain and just lying there. That would be so horrible. Then I felt bad for the girl because her baby had reflux and cried a lot and then became colicky. She was sad and felt like everyone else's baby never cried. I wanted to reach through the computer screen and hug her and tell her that she'll be fine. I remember feeling that way. I think a lot of people don't talk about how hard the newborn stage is because you're supposed to be in this state of bliss that your baby that you instantly fell in love with is here. I will never hide how hard it was for me.

Also, I really think it's strange that all of these babies have reflux these days.

I miss being pregnant. I really do. I'm still hoping for twins next time ;)

I probably shouldn't say this but last night Avery only woke up one time. ONE TIME PEOPLE!!! I probably jinxed myself but could this finally be the start of something good??? I hope so!

New Video

New video of Avery chatting is posted.

My Cutie Patootie

I just love this little cutie patootie!

This was last night after she'd been outside with David and I. She was hot so she was cooling off with some water.
We have this one strange tulip. It's the only one of this color.

"Mom! Leave me alone!"

The many faces of Avery.

The weather here has been beautiful!!! I'm not missing being in Oklahoma with 90 degree heat! I could stand it a little warmer here but not much.

I set up a meeting with an advisor at Utah State and so we'll see what my future as an Aggie is going to look like. If most of my English classes don't transfer, I may change my major. Ugh. I really hate school. This is going to be tough.
