The Universe

The universe is aligned once again now that David is home. That was the longest we've been apart since we've been married! A whole 6 nights! I'm soooo happy he's home. I'm also thankful for my best friend who kept me company the whole time.

David told me while he was in Idaho that he was taking pictures for me. I was so excited to see these pictures since it's been a while since I've been in Preston and don't remember it all that much. I was hoping to see some more pictures of the house we'll be living in and Austin and Vicki's basement. Well, David comes home and starts showing me the pictures...all 8 of them. All of which happen to be pictures of the landscape on the way there and some others in Preston and Logan. These pictures basically all look the same. Why would I trust a guy to take pictures for me? I've learned my lesson.

Weight Off My Shoulders

I told my work today that I'm moving to Idaho. And thank the Lord they are being totally cool. I am going to work with them to make the transition as smooth as possible. I have been so blessed to work for such an awesome company and I am truly sad that I have to leave them. But on to new things, right?

David's leaving hopefully tomorrow but definitley Thursday to take our stuff to Idaho. We have A LOT of stuff. We thought we might have to get another truck...I hope we don't have to. I guess I should tell my dad that I'm staying with him.

Just getting up and moving is so out of character for me. Can I say that I'm kinda proud of myself for doing it? Well, it's my blog and I can if I want to. Sorry for the pat on the back but dang, I'm really moving and the truck in my driveway proves it. Reality showed up at my front door. I truly am excited though thinking about all the things I'm going to experience that I never could have before. I look forward to growing in the Lord while I'm there, growing closer to David and learning new things! This is so awesome!

Moving Truck

I can't believe we're picking up the moving truck tomorrow!!!!!!! And I have so much to do! David says we should just throw everything away and take only the couch, the bed and our clothes. I'm beginning to think he's right. We have too much stuff and that's after I've thrown out a bunch of stuff! I'm so excited and nervous! I can't believe this is really happening!

Welcome Home

Tornadoes will be one thing that I'm not going to miss when we move to Idaho! We got back early this morning from Cincinnati and we've been having tornadoes this afternoon! Thankfully they always miss us! Unfortunately there's more bad weather on the way.

Feeling Thankful

Today I stumbled upon a support group for AVM survivors. I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I am to have been given the option of stereotactic radiosurgery aka the cyberknife. Not only was I treated with this amazing non-invasive treatment, I was treated by the best possible person to do it. I have been alone in this AVM world but I'm not complaining, David was with me every step of the way, but yet, he'll never know what it's like. I've never felt that I needed to "talk" to anyone really but now that I see there are other people out there with AVM's and many much worse than mine, I wish I had found this site much earlier.

Today I have met people who have no hope of being cured. I have met people who have been basically forgotten by their doctors who said any treatment is too risky and then left alone. On the bright side, I have met people who are living their lives full of hope that their treatment is going to bring positive results. I met people who have AVM's in places that I didn't know you could even have one. These people are so incredibly brave. Most of the people though, are victims of brain AVM's. I was the victim of the much less common spinal AVM. No longer a victim but a survivor.

Sometimes even I forget where I've been. I know others do. I can't believe what has happened but I am so happy it's over. I look so normal, it's hard to believe that there was a time when I didn't know if I would walk, brush my own hair, take a shower by myself, touch my nose or feel my arm ever again. Wow. God truly is miraculous. He has taken such good care of us and provided in ways that can only be described as supernatural. Unexplainable.

Now that I have found this website. I hope to be a source of encouragement and hope to my fellow AVM survivors. I pray that they can see that good things can happen. Prayers can be answered. I hope to spread the news of the Cyberknife and the wonders that it can do. I found today that people had no clue about the Cyberknife or they thought it was only used to treat brain AVM's. I hope that at least one person mentions it to their doctor and can have this life changing treatment done on them. Some people are living in very scary and uncertain times and I hope that they can be encouraged by my story.

Revision

I think I need to make a correction to my previous post! I am not normal again. I am normal for the first time! Before I had a condition and just didn't know about it! Haha! Anyway, it's over now except for the annoying nerve damage that I have but you get used to it's annoyances! I'm ready to move now!
