Avalanche Safety & Hockey

Posts are coming more slowly these days. The add-on where I live is coming along nicely so hopefully B & G will be moving out soon...which means, David and I will be moving out soon too :0)

This weekend David went to an avalanche safety course and I'm really glad he did. He learned a lot and they got to go up into the mountains and search for beacons and use probes and stuff. He learned a lot. Now we need to get him a beacon. If he and Austin both have a beacon they can find each other in the snow.

We went to another hockey game last night and that was fun. The only thing that stunk about last nights game was that there were 3 refs on the ice and so they quickly broke up all the fights. The last game we went to, there was only one ref and he just let the guys fight. Oh well.

That sums up my weekend!

Last night David and I learned the Tango. I think so far that may be one of my favorites. I don't know why but I like it. I was imagining David and I being Gomez and Morticia Addams from the Addams Family. I just needed a rose!

Looks like the add on where we live is coming along pretty well and hopefully in a month I would bet, we'll be able to move into town. Well, closer to town. I don't know if it's considered town... Anyways, I'm super excited. I cannot wait!

I can't believe that David and I are creeping up on our 5 year anniversary! I also can't believe we're creeping up on a year here in Idaho! This last year has tested David and I in so many ways but we're making it. Praise God he is faithful and has taken care of our needs in so many ways and beyond food and a roof over our head.

I'm still excited for what's to come!

Thankful Thursday

I've been doing a lot of studying and reading lately and I love it. I've been reminded of a lot of things and learning a lot of new things.

So, today I am thankful for my God who loves me and accepts me as I am. I'm thankful he saved me by grace. Ephesians 2:8 & 9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."

Nothing I can do will ever make me acceptable to him but Jesus' blood covered that for me. God's love is amazing!

Monday Already?

I just had to sign in to my own blog. This private things sucks. Sorry.

I'm going in tomorrow to talk to the people at the county about filling in for the girl on maternity leave. Maybe she'll need an assistant and they'll create a position for me :0) Sounds good to me.

Tomorrow I may be driving down to Salt Lake to take David's welder to the shop. I can't wait to get it fixed so we can sell one of his welders!

I heard a Carrie Underwood song this morning on the radio and there's a line in it that kind of applies to me and how I've been feeling about wanting a house of my own. The song is actually talking about earth and heaven but I'm going to say it applies to me and my situation as well.

It says "This is just a temporary stop on the way to where I'm going" I think that's it. It's the idea though of what she said. My living situation is just temporary :0) I also like to remember Dave Ramsey's motto: "Live like no one else so you can live like no one else" Actually I'm being dramatic, cabin living isn't that bad. I just miss the conveniences of a home and I'm missing all of my stuff.

Anyways, that's all.

Hockey

Last night, David, Austin, Vicki and Carson and I went to a Utah State hockey game. It was alot more fun than I thought it would be. They played a local team because the other team couldn't play but it was still cool.

We saw 2 fights. That's always exciting!

I should have gone to a Blazer's game when I lived in Oklahoma--had I only known hockey is actually fun to watch!

Now I'm going to be lazy and watch TV and mess around on the computer while I can :0)

So...

Nothing to say as usual. David and I were supposed to go to Salt Lake today to get his welder fixed but the people wouldn't answer the phone so we didn't go.

I am currently sitting out side of one of David's co-workers house. I thought he was just dropping something off but I thought wrong. Thankfully someone around here as unsecured wifi.

That's all for now. No news is good news...I guess.

Ramblings...

I wonder why in Oklahoma, they don't have Barq's famous red creme soda. It's delicious.

David was telling me last night how he had been looking at pictures from this past summer on his ipod and it made him wish it were summer again. Well, I think he would always want it to be summer but anyways...

I told him that I think I'm ready for summer too. I have nothing to write about during the winter. I need something to write about. I mean, I could write about all the things I think about or all the feelings I have but I'll spare everyone the boredom.

I mentioned yesterday that I'm getting tired of cabin life. I was thinking though about how I am thankful that we've been given the opportunity to live there. I think even more than the financial help it gives us, I am thankful for the time without TV and internet. I could really use a phone though...

I have used my time studying God's word and am loving it. I have no distractions and I've been reading book after book after book. God is really opening my eyes and has given me a desire to know Him like never before. For that, I am grateful. I could write on this subject alone every day!

Looks like David and I might be going to Salt Lake tomorrow to see about getting his welder fixed. Other than that, I'm not sure what the weekend plans are.

I had fun at our dance lessons last night. I just love how David grins the whole time. He likes it :0)

That's all for now!
