Small town America
Some of you asked what fry sauce is. Well, it's ketchup and mayo mixed together. I find it pretty crazy that they actually have it prepared for you around here. Something else that's strange for this Okie is that people around here don't know what Okra is. Even though I've seen it in the Wal-Mart. I've seen brand's in Wal-Mart that I've never seen before, kinda weird. They also have huge shelves filled with giant cans of food to stock up on. Thinks like powdered margarine and powdered milk and like 5 gallon buckets of salt and sugar. I thought it was because people were preparing for something bad or because everyone out here has a million kids but Vicki said that their prophet told them to stock up so they do to be obedient.
I'm loving the life of a small town girl. One interesting fact about Preston is that they had a McDonald's one time and it shut down. Can you believe that? I thought McDonald's could make it anywhere. The people of Preston like to support local families who own restaurants. That's cool. In place of the McDonald's they have some fast food place called Arctic Circle. I haven't tried it though. We have one mexican restaurant called Los Amores. There are 3 local pizza shops but I've only had one. There's a Burger King and a Subway both located in 2 different gas stations. I keep wanting to snap a picture of the local movie theater but haven't had a chance to...it shows one movie at a time. Where's my Harkins? AMC? Tinseltown? There are some 4 plexes or something in Logan.
I'm just really excited for all the fun things that we're going to get to do. Well, I don't know much else. Have a good Saturday!

Mountain Lions
Okay, last night Austin took David and I up to Bear Lake (pictures of that to come)to show us the sail boats. Austin is obsessed with sailing and his dad has a sail boat. Is that one word? Anyways, after we looked at the lake with it's freakishly blue water, we went up into Cache National Forest to see a campsite where Vicki's parent's will be staying all summer.
Austin begins telling us about the mountain lions and how horrible they are. They're scary. He's telling us how he would never go out into these parts without a knife, gun and anything else that could help to kill a territorial, hungry mountain lion. And wolves...oh man. Of course David is like "let's go camp at the top of that peak!" And I'm like "I'm not camping unless I'm in an RV surrounded by an electrical fence." I'm not kidding. I don't plan on being anyone's dinner. But we did see 2 moose while we were there. I'll show those pictures later too.
For now I have other pictures to show you.

The pictures of the river are from Austin's parent's backyard. Crazy huh?

I love the picture of the mountain covered in clouds. And on David's shirt are HUGE snowflakes. Anyway, there's still more to come!

More pictures
So our days are filled with looking for a job. I hate it. I had a job interview today but I'm really hoping I won't have to take the job. It pays nothing. I can't wait until I have a job and this stress is no longer on our shoulders. Even though we are stressed, it's relaxing here. I don't know how to explain it. I was a little concerned before we came about the culture shock of moving to a smaller town or city or whatever Preston is. I have to say, the first night we got here as we were driving through town in the middle of the night, I thought "what did we just do?" But so far I love it.
My days go by so fast. Then in the evening we all get together and have dinner and then we get all cozy and watch a movie together. It's fun. It's also been neat being around a 5 year old all the time. Vicki made homemade rootbeer the other night and Carson got to have the first drink. Vicki asked him if it needed anything and he said "Um, I think it needs about 20 pounds of flour" oh, it cracked me up. Here is a picture of him blowing on the dry ice in the rootbeer.

Well, I've got some picture of Preston for your viewing pleasure.

I think that's good for now. Oh and yes, I realize that half of David's head is cut off in the picture. It'll take too much effort to fix it right now though.

Here are some pictures of the view from the house we're staying at for now. They live just outside of Preston. If only I had sweet photography skills...the pictures do it no justice. Sorry.

Ever since I have been in Idaho I have been taking pictures of things most people probably wouldn't take a picture of. I want my friends in Oklahoma to see where we are living though.
David and I are still looking for jobs. I got a phone call yesterday from a mortgage company calling to ask if I could work full-time. Hopefully they'll call back. I'm really hoping to get a job where I won't have to work weekends. Preston is a neat town. It's small but bigger than some others I've seen around here. The traffic is nothing compared to what I'm used to. So far I like living in this small town but if I need some city life I can go into Logan and enjoy ridiculous traffic. Hope everyone is well!

I decided to spare you the boredom of looking at all of the pictures at once so here are just a few of the pictures from the drive out to Idaho and before.
